Blogger: Who really is Nottybuoy?

Notty Buoy is  a mabita (Butha Buthe, Nothern Lesotho) born rapper aged 20 and  a tertiary student at Limkokwing University
Bl; When did you start doing Music?
I Started doing music back in 2010
Bl; Who Are Your Musical Influences?
I Was inspired by Lil Wayne and The game, ( both american rappers) but at the moment my role model is Pusha-T
Bl; Do You Have a Formal Music Education?
I ain't got a formal music education bro, learned to rap on my own, so I'm proud to say I'm nobody else's product
Bl; What's the difference between you and the next rapper i could meet in the streets of Maseru?
I'm a type of a guy who has no problem with any other artist, I do all hip hop kinds of music
Bl; How Do You Handle Mistakes During a Performance?
Mistakes during performances are easily handled by simply making sure that if I did something wrong I try to correct it, meanwhile I don't let people see that I made a mistake
Bl; Do male and female rappers generally get the same opportunities and equal pay?
There's a huge difference between male & female rappers, females I know so far don't put much effort in what they do, another thing holding them down is the support, people still believe that rap's for make people only,,payments are reflected the hustle one puts in
Bl; What is the potential income for this career?
Rap can change ones life financially n socially since if taken or practiced well, it could turn into a business
Bl: Is there growth in this field? How do things generally look for new musicians entering the field.
Its growing at very slow pace in our country and new musicians don't have it easy since to get recognized in this country, one must sweat they a** real hard
Bl: What do you consider your greatest asset as a musician?
My greatest asset as of now I would say its skills, I believe I posses skills different from other rappers...oh I also got a clothing line running
Bl: Do you think you could make it in industries as huge as that of South Africa or Nigeria.
Long as one believes, he or she can make it even in SA or other big industries
Bl; Would you work with anyone from South Africa or Nigeria? If yes who in particular?
Like I said, I've got different styles when it comes to rap, so yeah, I would work with someone from SA, to mention a few I'd go for Zahara on hooks and Reason on 'em tight verses.
Bl; What's your take on beef in general?
Beef spices things up n creates a Lotta vibe in the industry but its definitely not my thing man
Bl; Don't you think beef could create gang wars such as those of the famous blanket gangs ?
It creates a lot of conflicts hence I don't like to be involved in it in anyway whatsoever
Bl; #Challenge_IGI is meant to create unity amongst other things, do you think this will be achieved through this initiative?

#Challenge_IGI is already creating unity in the industry which is what we need, its gong bring a lot of other good stuff I think.

Bl; What can you say about our music as local artistes, are we there yet, if not, what's missing?
We're not there yet in our music, we lack,,unity, creativity and passion for the game, a lot of cats do it for fame n girls
Bl; Whats the worst that's ever happened to you on stage?
Forgetting my lines???
Bl; Whats the craziest stunt you ever did on stage?
Let's leave it at that (gigles)
Bl; Whats to be expected the next time you release music?
Oh, the next song I'm gong drop features an international rapper and lemme just say he's not from africa
Bl; Gig updates?
I'll be performing in msu (Maseru), st Catherine's high school on 18th march during the day n cop college later in the evening, qacha the following week(my own show)
Bl; One word for yourself as an artiste?
Skilled!!

I first met Notty Buoy in his home town a year ago at a show I was hosting there with Thabo Mokhobo ( Modeling FM), from what I learned he is one ambitious brother who aims to top his home town if he hasn't already, for me he is more of a trap dude, having him in this tape will bring so much variety and will also kill the myth that every thing good comes from Maseru (The capital city).
